Aptamer-based probes for biomedical imaging

Aptamers can be raised against biomarkers. Once selected such aptamers are easily conjugated to diverse pending groups allowing their visualization by fluorescence, scintigraphy, magnetic resonance and consequenty imaging cells or tissues. Fluorescent aptamer probes can also be used for sorting cells (FACS analysis).
