Western-blot analysis with aptamers

This well established technique makes use of antibodies for the detection of proteins following polyacrylamide gel analysis and transfer to a nitrocellulose membrane. Aptamers can be substituted to antibodies providing increased specificity and easier detection. Different fluorophores can be conjugated to different aptamers for monitoring simultaneously several proteins of interest.
